Tried to go here but the RN9 highway became undriveable in a Toyota hatchback rental car about 20-30 minutes after Lac Assal. The reviews here aren’t recent, so perhaps the road has fallen into worse disrepair. But I think you’d need a 4x4 to drive here from downtown Djibouti reliably without punctu…
